Take a nostalgic look back with
"Remember When...." -
Memories from Childhood and Beyond
I am a family history enthusiast, based in Scotland, sharing my interest on my blog Family History Fun. Family history is so much more than names and dates, but all about discovering stories. It is the richness of the detail in our family stories that make them so fascinating to ourselves and (hopefully) interesting to others.
It it is an experience that is enjoyable, nostalgic, at times poignant, often fun, as I looked back on episodes from my own childhood.
How often have I envied family historians who have a family diary or a journal from the past - an invaluable, personal heirloom to see the writing and and read the words penned by an ancestor. How often have I wished I had written down the anecdotes told by my parents and aunt.
So here is a call to Action

ReplyDeleteOh Susan, we are definitely on the same wavelength. We could even have written each other's announcement! I see you are covering multiple topics per letter. I might have to do that too because I have lots of ideas for some letters and of course almost nothing for others. See you in April!

ReplyDeletePeople often don't write down their stories, and some part of our collective history is lost from generation to generation. Great that you are recording yours. Best of luck with the challenge.
