We used to get that kind occasionally and neighborhood kids would canoe down the street laughing at the novelty of being able to paddle a canoe down the street.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17863357756727783017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-427560122717203300.post-83193979570883227782014-03-31T12:11:15.631+01:002014-03-31T12:11:15.631+01:00Read Boobook's comment and forgot what I was g...Read Boobook's comment and forgot what I was going to say - my nephew is finishing his engineering degree and working with a bridge design company - his father (my brother) says he will not drive over any more bridges :)Jackie van Bergenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14108390437411946657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-427560122717203300.post-58883057192677197292014-03-30T23:40:39.720+01:002014-03-30T23:40:39.720+01:00I don't think I'd be standing on that brid...I don't think I'd be standing on that bridge with the water roaring through underneath! I suppose as we build more and more on the traditional flood plains they have the capacity to be more destructive. But also we have more news programmes - and hence more news to make.Alan Burnetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01015127443616786425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-427560122717203300.post-39918305268860078872014-03-29T22:27:31.404+00:002014-03-29T22:27:31.404+00:00The kids probably loved wading in the water. The kids probably loved wading in the water.Postcardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16399915833682943432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-427560122717203300.post-89138249255065589712014-03-29T21:30:50.302+00:002014-03-29T21:30:50.302+00:00Whenever I see such photos I think of the idiots w...Whenever I see such photos I think of the idiots who still drive across flooded sections of road, bridges etc. Might be safe, but what terrible consequences if something's happened to the road below the surface.
