I have the family history bug for researching both my own family history and that of friends. If your interest is in families of the Fylde in Lancashire, this site is for you, with many photographs to enhance interest. I'll also be looking at my Scottish Donaldson connections, hints and tips, and stories that appeal. So read on, or even better, sign up as a follower. Do get in touch - I would love to hear from others who share my enthusiasm for family history fun.

More Magnificent Hats - Wordless Wednesday.
What magnificent hats were worn (above) by Mary Jane Oldham, nee Bailey and her sister-in-law Sarah Butler, nee Oldham? Mary Jane Bailey and my grandfather William Danson were cousins. Below is another creation worn by Sarah's sister Edith.
And in case you missed an earlier posting, have a look at Sarah's Wedding Hat
With thanks to my third cousin Stuart for the use of these marvellous photographs of another age.
Wordless Wednesday is one of many daily prompts from www.geneabloggers.com to encourage writers to record their family history - here the emphasis is on photographs.

How cool - I suppose a real lady was not properly dressed without her hat.
ReplyDeleteBut I wonder how much they weighed?
