Remembering in May

This is the second  in a new series recording events by month in the lives of my Danson and Rawcliffe ancestors of the Fylde, Lancashire.

3rd May 1730
My great, great, great great grandmother Margaret Fayle (1730-1815) was born , daughter of Henry Fayle, yeoman of Thornton, Lancashire. She married John Danson.

May 12th 1877
My great grandparents  James Danson (1852-1906) and Maria Rawcliffe (1859-1919) married  at St. Anne's Church, Singleton, near Poulton-le-Fylde.

13th May 1840 
 My great great great grandmother Elizabeth Brown, wife of Henry Danson (the elder) died at Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire., buried in St. Chad's Churchyard.

17th May 1917
John Danson, my great uncle and third son of James and Maria (above) died  in the First World War, aged 38.    Remembered on Poulton War Memorial.

John's first wife Sarah had died at the young age of 21, leaving a little daughter Annie Maria who made her home with her grandmother Maria.







May 20th, 1757
My great great great great grandparents John Danson (1736-1821)  and Margaret Fayle (1730-1815) married at St. Chad's Church, Poulton-le-Fylde.


May 22nd 1863
Martha Rawcliffe (1863 -1863), youngest sister of my great grandmother Maria,  was baptised at Hambleton, near Poulton-le- Fylde. She only lived for 5 months.

May 25th 1806
My great great grandfather Henry Danson
(1806-81  was born at Trap Farm, Carleton, near Poulton-le-Fylde.  




May 30th 1864
Mary Danson third daughter of Henry Danson (above), born 1837 at Trap  Farm, Carleton  was buried in St. Chad's Churchyard, Poulton-le-Fylde at the age of 26, following the birth of her second son William Henry a few days earlier.
